About Me

“One big unicorn, strong and free, thought he was happy as he could be. Then three little kittens came around and turned his whole life upside down. They made him laugh, they made him cry. He never should have said goodbye. And now he knows he can never part from those three little kittens that changed his heart.” —Despicable Me
“In life, maybe you do eventually find love, but it’s not with your high school boyfriend. It’s with a completely different person whom you never even met before - someone who didn’t figure into the first part of the story at all. In life, there’s no happily-ever-after-into-the-sunset. There’s a marriage, complete with arguments, bad hair, lost hair, mentally unstable children, weird diets, dogs that fur up the couch, not enough money.” —E. Lockhart - The Treasure Map of Boys
“Let me be honest back, then, she said. You don’t know how it is to like someone for a long time. To keep thinking he might like you back, and thinking he might like you back, and never being sure. Every day you think something might happen. Every day you tell yourself, probably not - but maybe. And then every day it doesn’t. It’s hard.” —E. Lockhart - The Treasure Map of Boys
“There’s something about seeing a guy’s feelings written down, something about him taking that risk and committing his heart to paper, that means so much more than anything he could just say.” —E. Lockhart, The Treasure Map of Boys
“I don’t want to have to do this living. I just walk around. I want to be swept off my feet, you know? I want my children to have magical powers. I am prepared for amazing things to happen. I can handle it.” —Me and You and Everyone We Know (via stirringofbirds)
“In a way they have never left me. And that’s just it isn’t it? That’s how we manage to survive loss. Because love, it never dies, it never goes away, it never fades, so long as you hang on to it. Love can make you immortal.” —Gayle Forman
“I have a sadness shield that keeps out all the sadness and it’s big enough for all of us.” —Where The Wild Things Are
“That’s why you need to grab whatever chance you have for happiness where you find it, and not worry too much about other people. My experience tells me that we get no more than two or three such chances in a lifetime, and if we let them go, we regret it for the rest of our lives.” —Haruki Murakami, Norwegian Wood
“At times the world may seem an unfriendly and sinister place, but believe that there is much more good in it than bad. All you have to do is look hard enough. and what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events may in fact be the first steps of a journey.”

This is my favorite quote in our high school yearbook!

“Remember when you were little, a kid - and you’d fall asleep in the car? And someone would carry you out and put you into bed, so that when you woke up in the morning, you knew automatically you were home again? That’s what I think it’s like to die.” —Jodi Picoult, Change of Heart
“But if I’ve learned one thing, it’s this:
It’s not the easy things that get you to know a person.
Know, and love.”
—David Levithan, The Alumni Interview (Megan McCafferty - Sixteen)
“The past is always tense, the future perfect.” —Zadie Smith
People never notice anything. I live in New York, and I was thinking about the lagoon in Central Park, down near Central Park South. I was wondering if it would be frozen over when I got home, and if it was, where did the ducks go? I was wondering where the ducks went when the lagoon got all icy and frozen over. I wondered if some guy came in a truck and took them away to a zoo or something. Or if they just flew away.I don’t even know what I was running for - I guess I just felt like it.
